Matriarch, a plant-based eatery in Uptown Minneapolis, opened with buzz for creative vegan dining but closed quickly due to unresolved lease issues and liquor license hurdles, shifting toward future pop-ups. Stay tuned for more info on their renaissance!

Pub 819

Pub 819 in downtown Hopkins reopened on July 9 after an eight-month closure following a kitchen fire, returning as a beloved neighborhood spot with a refreshed remodel, expanded seating, its signature whiskey selection, and a menu full of burgers, beer, and hearty pub fare.

After 37 years in the downtown skyway, Pino’s Pizzeria was forced to close when their building was condemned with just a week’s notice. With support from the community, they successfully reopened in a larger, brighter space, proving their strong community roots and bringing their beloved pizza back to the community.

Stock & Bond, an elegant new steakhouse, opened inside the historic Farmers and Mechanics Bank building, serving heritage Angus steaks and a curated selection of over 350 American whiskeys in a space filled with gilded chandeliers, granite floors, and a striking ceiling mural.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in downtown St. Paul, Afro Deli has relocated just across the street to a more spacious, brighter spot, where it now serves up its signature African-fusion dishes until 8 p.m. with expanded evening hours.
